The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association does not have varsity hockey, so Extramural Hockey offers the highest calibre of collegiate hockey in Ontario through a series of non-contact tournaments. Over 28 teams compete annually for a spot in the year end Challenge Cup in March.
Since the Challenge Cup Series started in 2008, Georgian-Barrie has won four tournaments and qualified for the Challenge Cup each year.
Georgian-Barrie has a 42-19-5 record over the past three seasons. In 2011-12, Georgian-Barrie is 7-1-0-2 and are the winners of the 2011 Georgian-Orillia Fall Faceoff. As champions, the squad has qualified for the 2012 Challenge Cup in Oshawa in March.
